Microsoft Partner Since 2007
Kevin Genner.
Kev lives in Orleton Lane,
Wellington. He is a
Compaq – HP certified,
Azlan certified, Dell Partner and Microsoft
Partner computer engineer with
approx 40 years experience.
At the time of the launch of the Sinclair
Spectrum, Kev was working as a Sheet Metal Worker / Welder. He
purchased a Home Computer, learnt the BASIC computer language, attended (and passed) numerous computer
courses. This allowed him to enter the computer industry with
Jentech Computers in their Telford branch.
Sometime later he started his own business;
A&A Computers in Shifnal which ran for a number of years. At this
time, He also began stripping, upgrading and repairing systems.
Unfortunately, Kev broke his right elbow
(he is right handed) and “was sidelined” for 2.5 years whilst
awaiting surgery.
Immediately upon return to fitness Kev began
working at Mitac Computers (Computer manufacturing plant at Stafford
Park Telford) as a computer engineer with responsibility for fault
finding and repairing PC`s. He was promoted to senior engineer with
responsibility for Compaq Computers (Mitac manufactured Compaq PC`s
and at this time, Compaq were the No1 brand worldwide).
PSM Micros were the No1 computer maintenance
and repair company in Shropshire. Compaq suggested that they employ
someone to oversee Compaq repairs. Kev had resolved a number of
issues for Compaq (whilst at Mitac) and was “head hunted” by PSM.
PSM put Kev through” Compaq and Azlan
certification. Whilst at PSM they became and remained No1 in Europe for approx 3.5
years for correctly diagnosing faults and successfully repairing
systems. PSM clients ranged from small businesses to councils to
prisons and national companies (eg; British Coal).
Kev was then “head hunted” by Dataworld UK.
His responsibilities were repairs, in-house maintenance, customer
support and product development. Whilst there, he did work for MOD
(Ministry of Defence) and resolved a number of issues which resulted
in them being invited to apply for contracts.
Kev designed the new network at MDBA (Ministry of Defence & British Aerospace) HQ, Resolved numerous issues at GCHQ, Abbey Wood, AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) and others.
Dataworld was also awarded sub-contracts
from ICO for NHS
installations. ICO insisted that Kev performed the
installations on numerous sites and occasions for
North Mersey
Health Authority to
Greenwich Hospital and
Great Ormond Street
Hospital. Kev also resolved issues and later installed systems at
Brunell University, Hull University, Manchester University, Rolls
Royce, Akza Nobel and
many others.
He became disillusioned and left Dataworld
to begin work at Maztec Computer Services (Stourport) as a field
service engineer. His role was to visit customers nationwide (3x per
day) repairing systems for major insurance companies and for PC
World (when they or their main repair centre couldn’t repair a
system, he would visit the store and repair). Whilst at Maztec he
also trained the specialist engineers at PC Worlds main repair
centre (near Liverpool). However after 14mths, he left to set up a
business which would supply machine specific
Windows Recovery CDs.
Microsoft invited him to become a Microsoft Partner and granted
permission, he also became a Dell Partner.
After a number of years, Microsoft withdrew permission. This forced him to close the business.
Kev is now offering his services to individuals and organisations nationwide. Contact details are shown below.
